About Us
Our philosophy of education is based on the following:
Wisdom and knowledge comes from God, therefore man’s education is complete only when God and His Word are the center of all learning (Proverbs 1:7). In education we are concerned with the total person: his/her intellectual, spiritual, physical and social being. We believe the needs of the total person can only be met as approached from a Christian or Biblical philosophy.
The Student
-
Created by God and in His image, he/she is of inestimable worth, possessing an eternal soul that shall either inherit everlasting life or everlasting damnation.
-
Because of sin, he/she is unable to reach God. His/her nature is totally depraved and foolishness is bound in his/her heart (Proverbs 22:15).
-
Faith in Jesus Christ is the only way of establishing a right relationship with God. Reality in life’s purposes and values can be ascertained in and through Christ alone.
The Curriculum
-
God is the source of all wisdom and He has revealed Himself specifically in the Bible – thus God’s Word is the basis of all our studies and should be correlated with all experiences that the child has under the auspices of the school.
-
Christian education should aspire to train a child in such a way that he/she will have a sound, practical working knowledge of the Word of God and be able to evaluate every circumstance of life from a Christian viewpoint.
-
The home and church being ordained of God and being charged with the responsibility of training and teaching (Deut. 6:6) should work together with the Christian school in promoting the student’s growth.
The Teacher
-
The teacher in the Christian school must of necessity give evidence of knowing Christ as personal Savior.
-
He/she must be wholly committed to following and obeying Christ, thus being wholly committed to a life of service to man for Christ’s sake.
-
He/she should possess academic and professional learning necessary to perform his/her task.
Mission Pillars
Learn–CCS believes that learning is not just for children, so we encourage our students to become lifelong learners of truth. We seek to instill a love of learning and discovery in our students through passionate teaching, engaging curriculum, profitable projects, and healthy discussions.
Lead–CCS works to equip competent and confident leaders. Through extracurricular and student-life activities, students are given opportunities to learn biblical, Christlike leadership skills that will allow them to take on leadership roles in their homes, in the church, and in society.
Think–CCS endeavors to develop students who think biblically and critically. Curriculum and classroom activities are designed to teach students to evaluate and assess information based on biblical truth so that when they leave our school they will be equipped to navigate their lives with the same biblical lens.
Serve–CCS strives to be others-minded and to foster a mindset of service in the hearts of our students. We encourage students to see the beauty and benefits of serving in both their community and local church and to use their future educational and vocational plans as opportunities to serve and lead others for the sake of Christ.
History
Chisago Christian School was established in 1974 by the Bible Baptist Church. At that time, it was called "Bible Heritage Christian Academy." Later the name was changed to Chisago Lakes Baptist Academy and then to Chisago Lakes Baptist School and now Chisago Christian School in the 2020-2021 school year.
The school began with eighteen students. In 1978, the church built the Christian Education Building which now houses many classrooms, as well as a full-size gymnasium. In 1981, another addition was constructed that currently houses the school office, library, and another classroom. In the summer of 2004, the old church building was remodeled to house the secondary program, which utilized the four classrooms and two bathrooms that were constructed at that time. Currently our elementary and secondary programs provides Biblically-based education for students ranging from K4 (Kindergarten Readiness) through the 12th grade.

We eagerly look forward to the future as we continue to see the Lord bless our mission of educating students from a Biblical perspective.
My prayer is that as you look at our website, you will see a difference in our school. As you read and pray, may God grant wisdom.
